This (scroll for a bit) is a poem for my wife. I have to write about her occasionally; it helps me stop staring.
Kimberly is a painter and visual artist. For a long time she did mixed paintings and fabric collages (like the goldfish and snail above). She’s been doing a lot of linocuts lately, which is relevant to this poem.
If you’d like to read something about the early days of our marriage, here’s my poem Capax Infiniti.
Some links. This is Kimberly’s website. She has a Facebook page and an Instagram that she updates more regularly, as well as an Etsy shop. She is also on Substack,
, but I haven’t gotten her to start posting yet.

You are my favoritest woman
You are my favoritest woman
Full of fingers
My poetry’s obsession
In particulars
You are my favoritest woman
I watch you work
Your stamps and tiny inks
Your careful blades
You are my favoritest woman
Stained nails
If you had any left to mark
Full of fingers
O mother of ink and knives
I stop my mouth
You are my favoritest woman
I watch you work
All day, my words worry
At particulars
You are my favoritest woman
Unexhausted
Always worlds to mark
Ever etching
You are my favoritest woman
Best birther
Of all the things to come
Full of fingers
You are my favoritest woman
Let me see your etchings
She’s so gifted! I adore her sketchbook!!! I love your poem! Soli Deo Gloria!!!
