(The greatest sonnet ever written was penned)
The greatest sonnet ever written was penned
In town, just down the road, out past the oaks,
In regular America, where wend
Ten million roads, where fizz a billion Cokes.
It happened accident’ly, nearly, shocked
The poet, scared his kids, roused his wife.
The man had gone into his shed, then locked
The door, to consider how he loved his life.
The poet thought of all the things to write:
He loved his wife, his dog, his garden plot,
He liked his job, his kids were a delight.
He wrote about it all, and wrote a lot.
A haiku, a lim’rick, five hundred villanelle,
And the single greatest sonnet that any man could tell.
This is not that sonnet, as you’ve guessed.
But his face was shining as he left that shed, and his family was blessed.

Nice.
Not sure why but this made me think of the Monty Python sketch: 'the most deadly joke in the world' 😅
I liked the billion fizzy cokes and the whole poem
