Downward Trend
For the western hikikomori

The capybara’s a fashionable beast,
Though its fur is covered in fungus and yeast.
Young ladies have filled their Pinterest with pics
Of cuddly rodents chewing on sticks.
This trend will continue until it has ceased.

The boys lifted phones, and sang when it trended,
Sea shanties brave, new vocals appended.
They hit every bass note with vigor and glee,
But were not at the pub, nor even at sea.
This all will go on until it has ended.

The trouble with women, I’m sure you’ll agree,
Is they’re very unlike the trouble with me.
I’d rather retire for the rest of my life
Than have to acquire and maintain a wife.
This trend will continue till we’ve ceased to be.
