Boomer at Homosassa Springs
His shirt is soaked in sweat,
Busting at the buttons,
Pineapple patterned
And bright as a bite
Of Key lime pie.
He has fled his front yard flamingos
For the day, if only to say
I stay
Busy,
I’m fine,
When his daughters, concerned, call
From Ohio.
“Bright as a bite / of Key lime pie.” That’s so excellent. I can see that shirt from here.
