Sabe also means she tastes of it.

To taste is to prove,
To prove is to know.

Prove yourself, you think.

Prove this pie, she says,
And it is black as berries.

Prove colorful honeys from every flower
Before the adventuring birds do.

Taste honey from every flower,
Amaryllis, violets, Aztec lilies,
Lotus flowers, cactus flowers,
Dahlias, poppies, chrysanthemums,
The flowers of palm trees,
Quince flowers, scrub flowers,
Orange flowers, gum flowers.
Taste and see.
